IMAREX and NOS to list new Handysize dry bulk futures contract from 2 Jan 07

The Baltic Exchange Handysize Index (BHSI) will go live on 2 January 2007, and NOS will open for clearing of the new HS6TC futures contract from that date.
At the same time, IMAREX will list the contract for trading on the IMAREX screen starting with the February contract.
The HS6TC forward curve will consist of 4 monthly, 4 quarterly, 2 half year, a straddling calendar (12 months July to July) and 3 calendar year
contracts.
The BHSI index will be published every working day at 1300 (London) by the Baltic Exchange and will be based on the following:
Standard vessel description:
- 28,000 mt dwt self trimming single deck bulkcarrier on 9.78m ssw 169m loa 27 m beam. 5 holds/5 hatches. 37,523 cum grain 35,762 cum bale 14 knots average laden/ballast on 22 mt ifo (380) no diesel at sea. 4 x 30 t cranes. Maximum age 15 years.
