Imarex Freight Options market goes on-screen
[First published: Monday 08 August 2005 1:58:10 pm]After Imarex launched the trading of cleared freight options on the 1 June this year, interest and trading in contracts linked to the TD3 tanker route have gathered a steady following.
Last week, the first ever "on-screen" freight option was conducted on the Imarex trading screen. Until then, all previous cleared freight options have been handled on the phone by Imarex Exchange brokers.
"It's on screen that this market will really grow," says head of the Tanker Desk at Imarex in Oslo, Herman Michelet.
Imarex held its first Freight Options seminar in London on the 13th of July, which was attended by 24 traders from key freight derivatives organisations. Further seminars are being planned to accommodate demand among Imarex' members.
