IMAREX gets podium finish at Rolex Sydney Hobart race

The 38 foot sailing yacht IMAREX has gained a third place in the Sydney 38 One Design class category.

Skipper and IMAREX tanker broker Ola Strand Andersen berthed safely at Hobart on the 29 December having finsihed the gruelling race in 3 days 18 hours amd 52 minutes.

"We are jumping for joy at getting a podium finish - this is one of the toughest ocean races on the planet after all," say Andersen.

The IMAREX led the race out of Sydney on the 26 December, then chose an easterly course hoping for more favorable winds passing through the infamous Bass Strait.

"It was a race from the start and for a while we were in the lead by quite a margin - but that`s sailing, we caught less wind and slipped back. Great result nevertheless," says Andersen.
